Soy Candles at Universal Door Meditation Center
START THE LIGHT, BE THE LIGHT, SEE THE TRUTH
Soy Candles started to appear at Universal Door Meditation Center since 2005, after one of our students introduced us to the benefits of soy candles, wherein the wax comes completely from soybeans. Since then Zen Master Pho Mon allowed nuns to start making soy candles at the Center for use on on the Buddha altar.
Knowing the deep meaning of candles as to "turn on the inner light" and the benefits of soy candles, many students have asked the nuns to make more soy candles so that they could offer a donation to take some home for their own altar, dining room, kitchen, office, bathroom, etc. or to give as gifts to others for any occasions such as birthdays, housewarming, Christmas or New Year days... The meaning and beauty of candles constitute a special gift with spiritual values that people can give to relatives, friends, colleagues and business partners.

Below are some memorable photos of Zen Master Thich Dieu Thien, nuns and students together made meaningful candle baskets. These are gifts wrapped and decorated for special occasions to give to family and friends ... These contain Zen Master's profound Awake message: every time you light a candle, it's time we light up the Wisdom lamp in ourselves...
