The Core Teaching
  • Admit you have suffering
  • Realize the cause and the nature of your suffering
  • End the suffering
  • The path to the end of suffering

The Practice

First, you must admit you have suffering and want to end the suffering.
From the point of suffering, you have a chance to look back into what causes the suffering, what wants or beliefs you hold that lead to the experience of suffering. Looking further, these beliefs are set-ups to satisfy who or what? You continue to  look and check until you find out the cause and nature of this system of suffering.

When you look deeply to realize the system of suffering, how it works and what it is, the suffering will end. The end of suffering is unconditional peace and happiness.

No one can do this inner work for you. You must do it for yourself. Then you will deeply, truly know from your own direct experience. Don’t borrow someone else’s experience or knowledge. Explore and discover for yourself!

Doing the inner work to realize the system of suffering is the core teaching and practice at Universal Door Meditation Center (Thiền Viện Phổ Môn) in Houston, Texas, and Awakened Meditation Center (Thiền Viện Nhiên Đăng) in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
